How much money do you usually give to schools?
It depends on the needs of the school/district and what is available. However, in years past, we typically give about $1200 to schools at the start of the year. Our hope and intention is to replenish that the following year; assuming funds are available.
Are you a registered non-profit?
Yes, we are recognized by the US Department of the Treasury as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our EIN # is available upon request.
Is there anything you don't typically give?
When working with schools, we typically stay away from giving gift cards to families because we want to make sure that any support we provide is used in a positive way. We also tend to stay away from supporting technology needs as this should be something the school/district covers.
Are you only in Lake County, IL?
The Lullabye Foundation was originally founded in Iowa, but has since primarily worked out of Illinois once Dennis and Sally moved to Lake County, IL. Lake County is where most of our efforts are done, however we also work in Central Illinois where Dennis and Sally currently reside. We are open to branching out to other local communities and counties!
Are you a faith-based organization?
Yes and no. We were founded on Christian values and beliefs and we are strong in our faith. We also work with some churches and support other Christian organizations.
At the same time, we have also worked in many public schools and non-Christian settings in which we do not express our beliefs.
We understand and accept that everyone may have a different belief system. We are here to serve children and youth; in whatever ways we can.
